Catching Up: Book Tour Updates, Big News, and Gratitude!

Dear readers,

First off, I want to apologize for the long delay in updating this blog. It’s been a whirlwind over the past few months, and I’ve been deep in the chaos (and joy!) of my book tour for On Healing. Thank you so much for your patience and continued support—it truly means the world.

Since the book’s release, I’ve had the honor of visiting 11 bookstores across the country (with a few more still to come!), connecting with readers, having heartfelt conversations, and seeing how the themes of On Healing are resonating with so many of you. Every stop has been uniquely special, and I feel incredibly grateful for the warm welcomes, the thoughtful questions, and the energy in every room. It’s felt more like a listening tour about healthcare across the country, which I truly appreciate.

I never could have imagined when I started writing about healing, longevity, and well-being that it would lead to so many incredible conversations, and the chance to connect with so many of you in person.

On Healing Book Tour Highlights
We kicked off with an unforgettable Book Launch in NYC at Maman NYC, where the energy in the room was electric. The discussion delved deep into healing beyond medicine, the power of intuition, and how we redefine well-being in the modern world.

Next, I had the pleasure of speaking at Barrett’s Books in Darien, CT alongside the brilliant Dr. Katie Takayasu. It was such a joy to explore how integrative medicine bridges the gap between conventional and holistic healing.

Then came Hush in Greenwich, CT, a private gathering of women that allowed for intimate and deeply personal discussions. This event reaffirmed for me just how much healing is a shared experience.

Our West Coast leg started strong with Books Inc in San Francisco and again in Palo Alto, where I had amazing conversations with Bryant Terry and Dan Zigmond respectively about nutrition, mindfulness, and tech.

From there, I headed to Santa Barbara (Chaucer’s Books) and Los Angeles (Village Well), where I was joined by Dylan Wenzlau (CEO of Guava Health) and Dr. Robert Lufkin. Both events felt like homecomings, full of incredible energy, deep dialogue, and connections that I’ll cherish.

Then I was off to Coral Gables, FL, for Books & Books with Wendy Delucca of Carillon Miami resort — an exceptionally engaging discussion (recap here), followed by Denver’s Tattered Cover Bookstore with Amy Friel (of Cityblock Health). I cannot wait to continue these conversations in Boston (Hummingbird Bookstore) and Chicago (Barbara’s Bookstore) with Dr Sally Ourieff and Dr Melinda Ring.

This week, I’m heading to Tucson to speak at an incredible Wellness Summit—another meaningful stop along this journey as it’s collaboration with the University of Arizona’s Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (where I completed my fellowship in 2018). To be back where I first learned about integrative medicine, to talk about my book (which covers integrative medicine) is a full circle moment.

Promoting a book is typically a 3 month process, and it’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of this chapter.

I’m also thrilled to share a few exciting updates: On Healing earned a Kirkus Star in early January—an incredible honor, considering that less than 10% of books reviewed receive one. It was such a validating moment and a reminder that all the years of research, writing, and refining were worth it.

On top of that, the book recently received a glowing review from IndieReader, which I’ll be sharing more about soon. It’s been such a joy to see On Healing find its place out in the world, and to witness how it’s being received by both critics and readers alike.

If podcasts are more your thing, I’ve also been making the rounds on several shows recently, diving deep into the themes of the book—grief, healing, intuition, and the nonlinear nature of recovery. I’ll link to a few of those in an upcoming post (or on Instagram), so stay tuned!

To everyone who’s purchased, read, recommended, or gifted the book: thank you. If On Healing has moved you or made you think differently about the process of healing, I’d love it if you could leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Reviews really do help more readers discover the book—and they mean so much to me personally.

I hope you’re enjoying On Healing, and that you’re sharing it widely with the people in your life who might need it most.

With gratitude,

Amitha
